When it comes to taking a hard stand against genuine corruption and criminality, especially if the weight of the establishment is behind said corruption and criminality, the vast majority of politicians will stand among the corrupt and criminal. Nancy Schaefer was not one among the spineless majority however.

Mrs. Schaefer served as a Georgia State Senator from 2004-2008 and in the course of that time began to investigate how the national program of Child Protective Services really operates.

She also investigated the Georgia version of CPS, Department of Family and Children Services. Mrs. Schaefer wrote a report which can be found online entitled: “The Corrupt Business of Child Protective Services.” This report cost her her Senate seat, but as she correctly pointed out, there are causes worth losing something like a Senate seat over. Schaefer made clear that there are situations where children do need to be removed from wretched home situations, but that that is not what CPS is really all about. Her conclusions from her independent investigation are the following: The 1974 and 1997 version of the Adoption and Safe Families Act provides federal financial incentives to states to increase adoption numbers and thus, state level CPS is motivated to separate more children from their parents. Some counties receive between $4,000-$6,000 for every child adopted out of foster care and an additional $2,000 for special needs children. Everyone working in and around this racket receives their part for the role they may play: judges, social workers, psychiatrists, psychologists, state employees, court appointed attorneys, therapists, and so on. There is no accountability and no oversight for the legitimacy of separating children on a case by case basis. Caseworkers and social workers are often guilty of fraud, withholding evidence, and fabricating evidence to provide a “reason” for securing more merchandise(children) to be adopted for cash bonuses. When charges are made against the state employees though, nothing is done and they are protected by state immunity. Poorer parents are targeted because they don’t have the ability to fight the system. It is legalized kidnapping and kidnapping is an offense punishable by death according to Exodus 21:16. There are no financial incentives to unite children with their parents and funding continues as long as the child is out of the home. Children are abused and die at a much higher rate in foster “care” and these are crimes against humanity for financial gain, she stated. She concluded that CPS is a protected criminal empire. Schaefer also contacted state senators in every state asking for their help in this fight. They all told her they could not and would not help or take any action opposing the operation of Child Protective Services because they would lose their job if they did so. She also concluded that CPS needs to be dissolved completely and that reform is not possible due to the level of corruption existing at every level of society surrounding the program. 

On March 26th, 2010, Nancy Schaefer and her husband Bruce were both found shot to death in their home in Habersham County, GA. She was shot in the back and he in the chest. The gun used was an untraceable gun, and the one Bruce was known to own was not used. This was immediately ruled a murder-suicide based on their being suicide notes Bruce had allegedly written. Both were Christian with a pro-life stance. They had 5 grown children and 13 grandchildren. Bruce was supportive of her work. Nancy was in the process of publishing a book revealing how CPS was making money off foster children. She had also initiated the production of a documentary on the crimes of CPS, as well as exposing the corruption in Georgia’s DFCS. It is possible that Bruce Schaefer woke up one day and “went crazy” and decided to kill his wife of 52 years and then kill himself, leaving behind 13 grandchildren that he adored. It is also possible that elements operating above the law, and on behalf of the protected criminal empire that is CPS took Nancy Schaefer out because she was a legitimate threat. She was lecturing on this subject worldwide and exposed a dark reality much of the general public was unaware of up to that point in time. The Georgia Bureau of Investigation was aware that the Schaefers had received death threats but if this were a professional hit to silence Schaefer, entities like the GBI would never confirm it. There is much more to this subject of CPS than what has been covered here. This system will indeed be fixed and here’s how and when it will happen:
